  announced our circuit overseer last night in his talk about the urgency to preach because of the times.

  followed by a silence that was broken with ohhhs and ahhhs.

  he said that a couple of times throughout his part, simulating a beating heart with his fist.

  Any JW will bellieve that the end nigh and Armageddon is around the corner.

  It's the complacency of it all which riles me. Do they have no compassion for anyone else? Do that not care that their unbelieving mate, family member, neighbour who are going to be slaughtered by a vengeful Jehovah. Shouldn't they be in the streets begging people to look at the truth? Shouldn't they be doing everything in their power make people believe that the judgement day is near, using all means available, TV, Internet, Mail shots etc?

  But what have we got? People who struggle to preach this important news for a few hours a month. An organisation which is more interested in sales than souls.

  It's the "I'm OK, Jack" syndrome - If Armageddon did come tomorrow, very few JW's would get thru'

  ..like the english.. most brits use slang and colloquialisms as part of their everyday life.

  even jw's use the less offensive terms.

  i was surprised that many americans hadn't heard of the term "loo" before.

  i was raised a dubby but fell away when 18. never felt it was the truth, maybe it was just me who isn't religious.

  I was raised a dubby but fell away when 18. Never felt it was the truth, maybe it was just me who isn't religious. Parents still in and proud of it.
  Thought I was on my own until the internet. Read CoC and have just ordered "Gentile Times Reconsidered".
  Have no angst against my parents - they just did the wrong things for the right reasons - it's the organization that must take responsibilty for it's destructive effect on peoples lives.
  
  I feel almost normal amongst you lot........ :-)
